NNFP open evening November 1st
With National Fertility Awareness Week (#NFAW17) at the end of the month, we’ve teamed up with local Fertility Network UK volunteer, Gill McCune, to find out more about what the charity does and what’s happening during NFAW 2017.
-------
Fertility Network UK is a national charity for anyone who has ever experienced fertility problems, and provides information, advice, support and understanding for those trying to become parents.
We know it isn’t always plain sailing trying to for a baby, and it can be a deeply stressful and lonely time, which is why we provide support on a one-to-one and group basis, so you always have someone to talk to that understands what you’re going through. All of our volunteers have been through their own fertility challenges, and are trained to listen and provide advice when needed.
Unfortunately, it’s getting even tougher for couples facing fertility challenges; in England, NHS-funded fertility treatment is, quite simply, a postcode lottery, this is why Fertility Network UK actively campaigns for improved access to NHS fertility treatment, and can provide support and advice to those having difficulty accessing these services.
Currently the lay of the land for NHS-funded cycles in East Anglia is as follows:
Norwich – 2 funded cycles
North Norfolk – 2 funded cycles
Great Yarmouth & Waveney – 2 funded cycles
West Suffolk – 2 funded cycles
Ipswich & East Suffolk – 2 funded cycles
South Norfolk – 0 funded cycles
Cambridge & Peterborough – 0 funded cycles
Gill runs an online support group for Fertility Network UK that you can access through Facebook.com/norfolkfertilitygroup. It’s a non-judgmental place to connect with others going through similar issues, and get support to help you through the tough times. Alternatively you can email her at
[email protected].
